Gosh i love what i do!  What a way to start off the 2010 wedding season!

I get to work with amazing couples like Corrine & Chuck.  They are the most gorgeous, sweetest, coolest couples ever.  We had a ball planning their incredible wedding at the Chicago Illuminating Company.

I was in LOVE with their colors:  Cornflower (Bliss) blue, white and graphite.  SO PRETTY!  Their ceremony was mostly all white with a fabulous blue fabric canopy with their monogram of CC in white floral hanging behind them.

The square guest tables were dressed in graphite gorgeous linens.  The chairs were white chiavari with white cushions.  So clean and crisp.  The Dreamy Spring centerpieces were set in square white low containers filled with all white flowers – hydrangea, peonies, stock, roses, lilac, tulips and ranunculus.  Ahhhhh.  A Bride’s dream come true!

The day couldn’t go any better.  The weather was perfect and not one hiccup.  They started at the mouth watering new hotel, The Elysian.  Look at these amazing pics in their foyer.  When can i move in?

The evening was magical.  Everyone danced the night away.  We incorporated the blue into the room with yards of gorgeous cornflower blue fabric panels we dramatically pulled back after cocktail hour to welcome guests into the dining area.

At the very end, we did a wonderful sparkler send off for Corrine & Chuck.  Everyone lined the brick alley with festive sparklers.  Look at these.  They were nearly 4 feet long!  LOVE this pic.

What a night!  A HUGE hug and kiss congrats from all of us at Bliss.  We can’t wait to celebrate with you next time you come in town. xoxox

I am so excited!

I just got my Design books i ordered online.  I have stacks of Design books all over the studio that we reference all the time.  But i am especially excited for these new books.  I just got:

Style and Substance.  The Best of Elle Decor – by Elle Decor (I DYE!  I can’t wait to dive into this!!!.  I NEVER miss an Elle Decor!)

I find so much inspiration in Interior Design and Fashion.  Both industries set the trend for color combinations.

• Black and White with a touch of soft pink (Think big black and white thick stripe linen, soft pink peonies and garden roses…Very French!)

• Fuchsia and Golds (One of my all time favorite combos!)

Kara, Beth and I had another dreamy inspiring day in the studio together.

i have been wanting to get some pictures of our studio to show everyone.  Plus i wanted to get some “professional” pics of Kara, Beth and I to use on our website so you all can put a face with a name.

We had yummy treats  – Blackberries in a yellow bowl, French Macaroons in dreamy colors, Petite Fours..yum!

Bubbly drinks – Pink Veuve of course in antique fabulous toasting goblets

And, gorgeous flowers – fuchsia peonies (my absolute favorite), raspberry ranunculus, and absolutely amazing pink garden roses.  Ahhhh.  Kara arranged them in one of my pretty vintage white milk glass compotes.  We have this arrangement everyday on our Saarinen  inspiration work table…of course.  We wish!!!

We also had a huge blooming bunch of sunny yellow Forsythias adorned with one of our iconic blue Bliss butterflies.  Plus other darling satellite arrangements in silver containers around the studio.

We displayed all of our fun painted chaivari chairs and had armfuls of linens and design books around the studio as inspiration as we talked about the design of several of our fabulous clients events coming up.

Take the Cake (the most amazing cake company in Chicago) made us a “Bliss” Cake.  I am in love!!!

Hi Friends -

We just did the most amazing wedding with an incredible new charity called, “Wish Upon a Wedding”. It is an organization who grants weddings to couples who have terminal illnesses.  Local vendors come together to donate 100% of their services to make couples wedding dreams come true.

This was the first wedding in Chicago and only the second nationwide.

It was truly a magical day.  So nice to see local Chicago wedding vendors all coming together.  We have wanted to donate our services and do more charity work here at Bliss.  This was the perfect opportunity.  We were truly honored and forever inspired by their very touching story.

Beth looked gorgeous and Nick was just beaming.  Their colors were deep pinks and moss green.  So pretty.  We were able to use the cherry blossom as their signature look since it was an April wedding.  It was on everything from the invite to the cake.

We are thrilled to share with you our newest FULL page ad in the Spring/Summer 2010 addition of CS Brides called, “Wedded Bliss”.

We had a ton of fun shooting this ad back in the fall.  The incredibly talented photography team of, “Studio This Is” shot this ad and made our crazy idea come to life.  Jeremy Bustos – the owner – is absolutely amazing.  We are forever grateful.

If you look closely at the ad, the dress the model is wearing is our blue and white signature flocked “wallpaper”. We had the fabric custom printed and custom made by the very fabulous and talented seamstress, Jennifer Philbrook.  The dress is so darling.  She even put in pockets!  Don’t you just love pockets in a cocktail dress?  We do!

Happy Snowy Tuesday from Chicago!  Finally, our first snow fall of the season and it is beautiful.  I love snow in early December.  It gets us in the Holiday spirit!  I love it now, just not in March and Apri.

We have exciting news.  One of our most GORGEOUS and NICEST couples engagement sessions has been featured on Style Me Pretty’s blog.  Their photographer is the incredible Jeff & Julia Woods.  They were able to shoot their engagement session in beautiful Napa Valley.  Who doesn’t want that as their location?  Um….YES please!

The tone and contrast of her vibrant peacock blue dress (my new color obsession) against the natural landscape is unreal.

We can’t wait for the wedding in May at the Chicago Illuminating Company. You will want to come back and visit those pictures for sure. Their colors are cornflower blue and white.  So crisp and fabulous!

We LOVE when our fabulous weddings are featured in bridal magazines.  We feel very honored and proud to share our work with everyone.

Please check out the latest in “The Knot Chicago” Fall/Winter 09 issue on newstands now.  It is a wedding from a VERY fun couple, Natasha & Matt.  Her dress was to die for and we LOVE the deep rich purple colors in her bouquet.  So dreamy! Her theme was natural and organic.  We used lots of natural elements, river rocks, blooming branches, white birch and bird motifs.

One fun thing about the wedding was most of her bridal party lives in California and are choreographers.  They surprised the bride and groom at the reception with a full on performance of Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance – the original.  It was amazing!  We helped them rehearse in a secret location at the gorgeous Chicago History Museum.

I have been gone for a while. It has been a fabulous and VERY busy wedding season.  We are at the wind down stage and i know i need to get updated on my blog posts.  I have so much to tell you and share.  So many gorgeous weddings from this past year.  We have had some absolutely amazing clients who i know we will stay close with for many, many years to come.

On to some of the biggest exciting news in Bliss Weddings history…..

We are extrememly proud and honored to welcome the fabulous Kara Hilier Superfine to our Bliss Team.  Please read more about her in the press release below.  We plan on taking the wedding industry by storm with my and Kara’s extensive experience in the industry. Stay tuned for a lot of exciting fresh ideas from Bliss in the coming year. We have a lot of surprises and completely unique ideas up our sleeve.  Can’t wait to share them with you and all our new clients to come.
