Wednesday, November 30th, 2011

We hope everyone had a very very Happy Thanksgiving with your families and friends.

We absolutely adore Thanksgiving.  We certainly have a lot to be thankful for this year. First and foremost, our absolutely AMAZINGLY fabulous clients.  We love you all and love every day working with you planning your dreamy weddings.

I hosted my first big girl Thanksgiving meal for all 15 of us.  It was a Huge success.  Thought I would share a few photos of my table.

I am certainly no photographer, so please don’t judge the photography skills. HA!

I wanted a glamorous table. I spray painted faux gourds, pumpkins and leaves gold. Used Coral Peonies,A White Hemstitch table runner and napkins, and my fabulous Asian inspired Wedgewood China.  I love my amber stemware, but I added in some vintage etched wine glasses for an eclectic chic look.

I only used Coral Peonies for the flowers. Can you believe these beauties in November??

Gold, Gold and More Gold!

I love my Wedgewood Oberon china with my Amazing Celerie Kimble Huge Floral Print I upholstered my dining room chairs with.

Union Station Wedding Spectacular!

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

As you know, I am a bit behind in posting weddings.  But I am working on it!  There is so much to show you.

I had the true pleasure of working with the gorgeous Berkley and darling Bob last year on their October wedding.    They wanted a grand space, something unique and quintessential CHICAGO!  Well, that is exactly what they got at the spectacular Union Station.

I am sure not many of you have been to a wedding at Union Station – Let alone an event.  Most of you past through there on your way home from work and would never even think twice about it being used in a different way.

They love the architecture, the ceiling,, the height, the grandness and the history. And so did I.

Their ceremony was to be at the beautiful and private Cancer Survivor Gardens in perfect weather.  We had a back up for an indoor ceremony location at the Murphy Auditorium.  They couldn’t loose as these are both gorgeous!

It ended up Pouring rain that day, but no one even flinched.  We went to plan B and it was perfection.  This was one of the most “Chicago” weddings I have ever planned.  There was something in the air that day.  I felt like I had stepped back in time almost.  It was magical.

The bride LOVES Black, White and Pink.  We threw in some persimmon orange and some silver to glam it up.

Enjoy the details!

It ended up being a really chilly day. So the day before we ordered 200 Pashminas and offered them at the Ceremony to keep cozy in the Windy City.

The Ceremony ended up at the Murphy Auditorium. Even though the couple wanted it outside under the perfect Chicago Skyline, it worked out perfectly.

Everyone got transported to the Amazing Union Station by Red Trolley’s filled with Pink Champagne in big Galvanized Buckets.

Once they got to Union Station, They were greeted with a path of Votive Candles Down the Staircase. So Romantic!

The cocktail Area to include an amazing bar and mirrored escort card table.

After cocktails and great music, the guests were escorted to the reception area on the other side of the soaring fabric panels.  And here is what they saw.

The first set of images were taken during the day and the second were as the sun went down. The room literally glowed from all the great lighting we installed. I was really on the fence about the blue lighting in the high ceiling because their colors were mostly pink and orange.  But the Groom didn’t want an all pink girl wedding.  So I went with the blue and boy I am glad I did. It really made the room.

Now after the sun went down…

We had 4 of these HUGE stargazer lilly towers flanking the dance floor. They were the biggest pieces I have ever seen. They were spectacular!

The First Dance

Thank you B&B!   Miss you guys like crazy. When can we do this again?

Harry Potter Party Extravaganda!

Monday, October 24th, 2011

Okay. I just planned my son’s 6th Birthday party.  Where does the time go?  I can barely believe he is already 6 years old!

He wanted a Harry Potter themed party.  Partly because I have read all the books and am a bit obsessed over the series. But time and time again over the last few months I have asked what he wanted for his party theme, and every time he would squeal, “HARRY POTTER!”.

So Harry Potter is what he got.  Enjoy the pictures. It was seriously one of the funnest parties I have ever personally thrown.  The kids were amazing and really got into it. It was full of homemade amazing wands (thanks to my incredible neighbor who happens to be an art teacher), Gryffindor scarves made by yours truly, Harry Potter glasses for everyone, Hedwig, The Sorting hat,  A huge snake that greeted the wizards, Broomsticks treat bags, Gary the Magician (who was Incredible!!), Butter Beer, An incredible table to seat all 14 kids, Gorgeous decor  provided by the fabulous Event Creative , Homemade cupcakes and icing, Honeydukes candy store and cool book marks and  darling cookie favors  made by my beautiful sis-in-law.

The day after the party my son said to me, “Mommy, my party was the BEST day of my life”.  Melt..Sob…Sob with joy :) ))))

The Invitation. I wrote their names in a White marker and stamped the back with a real Red wax seal

Once the Kids got to the house, Luke gave them a Scarf and Glasses

We then gave them their special wand made by my very talented neighbor. They were so beautiful in person and each one was different.

Each guest tried on the Sorting Hat

Friends

We then asked them to find their names on their treat broomstick bags and took them outside for a very special Magic Show by the Amazing Gary!

After the GREAT show, they went inside and found their seat around the big table for Butter Beer and Pizza

Once they all sat down, They all toasted the Birthday Boy!

Cheers!

After Cupcakes, they visited the candy shop

Last, We sent them home with adorable cookies and book marks so they can start reading the Harry Potter Series

I wish it never ended!
