Renny Pedersen, Bliss Founder and president, has been involved in the event industry for over 20 years. She has designed and coordinated uniquely memorable, special events. She is gracefully poised under pressure. She has built fantastic relationships with top vendors in the industry, and her work has been featured in countless national publications. Renny developed an eye for design early in life. She fell in love with colors, textures, and compositions as she watched her mother build a successful interior design business. As an adult, Renny had the opportunity to partner with her mother and helped turn out exceptionally designed room after room.
Renny’s passions continued to expand. After attending culinary school, she went to work in catering and orchestrated high-end events for 10 to 10,000 guests. Looking for a way to marry her design and planning skills. Renny began working with one of the largest event planning companies in Chicago and planned some of the biggest corporate and social events in the city for the next seven years.
It was after planning her own beautiful wedding that Renny knew she had found her perfect fit. After all, she always had an incredible love affair with weddings. She had collected Martha Stewart Wedding magazines since the inception and dreamed of finding a way to bring her passions and expertise to life in her own business. For the past 12 years, Renny has done just that. Creating flawless, wonderful experiences for happy clients with Bliss Weddings & Events.
Katie Hennebry Kozlowski comes to Bliss Weddings & Events with more than eight years of event industry experience, and affinity for darling details and pure love for beautiful weddings.
Prior to joining Bliss, Katie launched Dettagli Weddings, a full-service wedding coordination company, specializing in the importance of amazing vendors, a thoughtful schedule and of course, meaningful details. Dettagli Weddings earned several industry awards, including The Knot’s Best Of in 2009, 2010 and 2011, and Wedding Wire Bride’s Choice for 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. Her work has been featured on Style Me Pretty and numerous wedding magazines. Prior to Dettagli, Katie worked as an event producer at Jam Productions, where she planned some of the city’s most glamorous corporate, non-profit and private events.
When she’s not dreaming about weddings, Katie can be found trying on new lipstick shades in the cosmetic department at Nordstrom, spending time on Lake Michigan boating with her family, or attending baseball games in heels. She absolutely adores Degas, Grace Kelly, paper stores, new recipes and the perfect party.
Lauren Carter has long been in love with the magic of weddings. In fact, you may see an old photo of her dressed as a bride when she was a child tucked behind her desk. Her entire career has been focused on weddings and events, culminating in over 12 years of experience. The blend of her meticulous organization and love for the creative process and all things beautiful, have proven to be the perfect combination in the journey of helping a couple plan their big day.
Lauren has planned weddings that range from the intimate and impeccably detailed 30-person high tea to the multi-day, 600-person, multicultural spectacular and everything in between. Her event experience also includes non-profit galas, children’s events, boutique openings, marketing events, fashion shows and smaller social gatherings. She approaches each event with a passion for creating breathtaking moments for her clients and ensures that she brings together an elite team of vendors who are working with that same sensibility. Her work can be seen in Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, Style Me Pretty, Elizabeth Anne Designs, CS Brides, Chicago Style Weddings and The Knot, to name a few.
After spending time as an interior design major at Purdue University, Lauren ultimately felt drawn to Chicago, where earned a bachelor’s in Public Relations from Columbia College Chicago.
When she isn’t daydreaming about the perfect Blissful wedding, Lauren can often be found at one of Chicago’s many fantastic restaurants, spending time with her family, practicing yoga, visiting farmers markets, entertaining at home and checking out the latest in fashion. Lauren’s favorite places for inspiration are travel, art, music, graphic design, paper, and interior design.
Jesse Deckard possessed immense creativity and passion for design at an early age in life. Growing up in the farmland of southern Indiana, he often found himself on an adventure fascinated by the natural beauty of a rolling hill, sprawling pasture or mysterious forest. At the age of 13 he could often be found at the flower shop of close family friends learning the simple composition of a floral arrangement alongside his grandmother. By the age of 18 he had designed over 30 weddings and had become a design asset in his community.
Furthering his education, Jesse was among a select 5 students chosen to pursue an intensive Bachelors degree in Fashion Design at Indiana University, where he simultaneously earned an Associates degree in Costume Design. He later had the good fortune to intern in both New York and LA with sorted costume and design houses, giving light to a new world of creation. The bustling coasts proved a bit too far from home and Jesse found himself here, in Chicago, to nestle down.
Today, having worked more than half of his life in the event design industry, Jesse looks to broaden his sights with the bigger picture. Working diligently with each vendor, he focuses on a truly streamlined process for clients impeccably tying every element together. The wealth of design experience and finely tuned eye for detail allow for each of Jesse’s clients to partake in a seamless journey to their special day. With a heavy hand in décor, Jesse is more than delighted to sit down with a Bride and dive into her dreams for the big day. Unlike any other, he is able to see into their vision and masterfully shape environments that truly reflect each one’s personality, creating events that are uniquely as one-of-a-kind as each special client he works with.
Liza Vazquez Morich loved putting together puzzles at a young age and couldn’t wait to see the “pieces” come together to create the perfect “picture”. She views events and weddings in much the same way- so many “pieces” fitting together- countless vendors, ideas, inspirations, etc. and it culminates in a fabulous and beautiful event!
Liza brings over 15 years of Chicago event experience to BLISS. From designing the perfect hospitality tent for discerning clients at golf tournaments, to overseeing corporate events including the launch of the Laura Croft: Tomb Raider movie premier (her favorite!) to countless Board of Governor and President Dinner Galas.
She takes extreme pride in connecting with the client and all vendors involved- making sure communication flows and lots of fun and laughter happens throughout the planning process.
When Liza isn’t reviewing BLISS timelines, she’s running along the lakefront, baking granola for Liza’s Crunch Granola or organizing pajama drives for the Pajama Program of Illinois as she is the President of the IL Chapter.
Liza is thrilled to be part of BLISS, prides herself on being Renny’s “on-site” coordinator at her fabulous wedding and still loves putting together puzzles.
